AeroCloud, the airport technology company redefining how airports operate through a single, unified platform, today announced the appointment of John Nicholas as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

The move supports AeroCloud’s continued growth and its focus on delivering practical, high-impact innovation for airport operations teams worldwide.

John brings more than 25 years of experience across startups, global consultancies, and founder-led businesses. His background spans hands-on software engineering through to senior technology leadership, including roles at Deloitte, Fanatics, and UKSV, as well as founding and leading Laminar Methods, his own technology consultancy.

As CTO, John will lead AeroCloud’s technology strategy, ensuring the platform continues to scale with clarity, reliability, and speed as it is deployed across more than 80 airport locations globally.

John is known for simplifying complex systems, removing unnecessary process, and aligning engineering effort directly with business and customer outcomes.

His approach focuses on reducing bottlenecks, improving delivery flow, and ensuring technology decisions support long-term adaptability rather than creating technical drag.

“As we scale, it is critical that our technology continues to serve real airport needs without becoming over-engineered,” said George Richardson, CEO of AeroCloud. “John brings deep experience and a very pragmatic mindset. He understands how to build technology that evolves with the business and supports our customers day to day.”

At AeroCloud, John will focus on strengthening the platform foundations, supporting faster product development, and ensuring the cost of change remains aligned with business growth and customer demand.

His work will help AeroCloud continue to deliver flexible, resilient solutions that adapt to the realities of modern airport operations.

“I’m excited to join AeroCloud at a time of strong momentum,” said John Nicholas. “The company has a clear mission, a strong culture, and a real focus on delivery. My goal is to help ensure the technology remains simple, scalable, and directly aligned with the outcome’s airports care about most.”

About AeroCloud

AeroCloud is the airport operations platform designed to help airports operate more efficiently using a single, unified system. Built around the realities of day-to-day airport operations, AeroCloud brings together core technologies to improve visibility, collaboration, and performance across the airport.

Airport Operations Systems (AOS) form the foundation of the platform, enabling flexible common use and shared airport infrastructure. AOS helps airports maximise the use of gates, desks, kiosks, and other assets through airline-agnostic technology that adapts to changing operational demands.

Passenger Processing Systems (PPS) support the passenger journey from check-in through boarding. PPS is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing airport and airline environments, helping improve passenger flow, reduce congestion, and maintain operational continuity.

Performance and Flow Management (PFM) provides real-time insight into airport operations. By bringing together data from across systems and stakeholders, PFM enables teams to monitor performance, identify issues early, and make faster, more informed decisions.

Trusted by 80 airports globally, AeroCloud acts as an extension of airport operations teams, helping them modernise operations, improve passenger experiences, and respond to change without adding unnecessary complexity.
